As many of you may know, Kate’s Rescue and the rescue world suffered a great loss with the sudden passing of our founder, Julia Souders. Kate’s Rescue for Animals has always been dedicated to the welfare of animals in the community and to the education of the people who care for them. We have some exciting news as we move forward to uphold Julia’s vision for Kate’s Rescue and work to be part of the solution!!
On December 7th the Board of Directors of Kate’s Rescue for Animals unanimously and strongly supported the merger with Furreka Rescue. Furreka Rescue brings with it not only the resources of the largest network of veterinary hospitals in the tri-county region but also as an established boarding facility. With Kate’s Rescue‘s extensive community support; volunteer connections; and its ability to foster, transport, and adopt unwanted pets, this merger will create a powerful partnership to stop the needless suffering of pets in our local communities.
This new entity will be named Kate’s Furreka Rescue with its 501 c3.
We have only one intent: to help found dogs find their owners as quickly and safely as possible and to place unwanted healthy pets in their forever homes.
Our future projects include establishing a local adoption center and shelter that operates seven days a week and enrolling 25 trained volunteers to help with the following: short fostering, walking shelter dogs, boarding homeless pets, transporting pets, and assisting in our adoption center.
We are very excited about our future and hope that you are too. We know that we can’t do this without YOU! It’s going to take a community effort, and with your volunteer help and/or financial assistance, we will make all our dreams come true.
Thank you,
Crickett Brinkman, President Kate’s Rescue
